Sachin Tendulkar registered as casual labourer:

Goa government has stated that Sachin Tendulkar has been registered as "casual labourer" and a beneficiary of MGNREGS. Apart from Sachin, his wife Anjali, daughter Sara and son Arjun are also listed in documents. Non government organization has disclosed a scam in which politician and officials have been listing fictitious workers in Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantees and pinching their remuneration.

NGO spokesman Yathish Naik said, "We demand a probe into the MGNREGs works in the Chimbel slum. It needs to be found out how these obviously fake names were registered as beneficiaries and who is making money on their behalf" .

Apart from Tendulkar, other cricket icons like Kapil Dev, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid have been listed as casual workers as well. According to beneficiaries list, film stars Amitabh Bachchan and Paresh Rawal are also beneficiaries of the MGNREGS.
