Forza Horizon 4 won best racing game award at Gamescom:

Forza Horizon 4 received best racing game award at Gamescom, beating F1 2018 & Sonic Team Racing. F1 2018 received overall best reviews, so this is an encouraging first sign regarding Forza Horizon 4.

May be the comparison is slightly unfair, Forza Horizon 4 is a high profile video game with more content & variety & it is not only focused on F1 cars, so this is a very good news for Forza Horizon 4. Ori & the Will of the Wisps won best Xbox One game award, beating FH4.

Forza Horizon 4 Review:

Forza Horizon 4 is set across Great Britain, in the Lake District & Edinburgh. E3 2018 trailer presented an amazing gameplay & other details about Forza Horizon 4.

One of the new feature of Forza Horizon 4 is the inclusion of seasons, the weather transition b/w summer, autumn, winter & spring. Seasons can have a bigger impact in Forza Horizon 4. In summers, rivers & streams contain less water than in winters. So races which takes place across these seasons can have different effects on the gameplay based on the time of year.

You can choose over five hundred clothing items for your character. You can customize your character, choose gender & both male & female characters have access to every item in your wardrobe. You can choose special costumes & fifty Fortnite-esque emotes.

Xbox one X owners can be glad to know that FH4 run at 4K in addition to an optional 60 FPS mode.  

FH4 was released on Xbox One & Windows 10 with Play Anywhere support on 2 October, 2018. Those who pre-ordered the ultimate edition played the game early, on 28 September, 2018. You could have bought the ultimate edition for $100 but beside early play time, the package also included the complete regular game, car pass, VIP membership, the day one car pack & two DLCs when they are launched. The DLCs are set to launch in December, 2018 & early 2019. You could have also bought the deluxe edition which included the car pass & a special formula drift car pack & Forza Horizon 4 deluxe edition costed $80. You could have only got this version as a digital download. You could have also got the standard edition for $60 which contained only the base game & you could have got it in both digital & physical forms alongside the ultimate edition.

The fantastic FH 4 include 450 cars from 100 licensed manufacturers, with the McLaren Senna & the 1997 Land Rover Defender 90 gracing the cover.

Forza Horizon 3 was largely about exploring the world, challenging other racers in tournaments & it offered an online multiplayer mode which allowed you to play with your friends. Forza Horizon 4 also copies the same features, as it is an open world racer.

Forza Horizon 4 Gameplay:

You can drive the most exotic vehicles & driving them in a way that breaks the road rules in stunning locations. The roads can behave differently & when you change track you can find a big difference in the overall performance of car including its steering.

The inclusion of Forza Life is a big change. Earlier games were based on the idea of the Forza Festival as a fleeting experience where drivers from across the globe visited a location for a brief spell, ultimately wrecked the place with tire skids & Ozone eating petrol, then left. There can be a little modification in the game due to addition of dynamic seasons. You can purchase houses in Forza Horizon 4 because it would be a bit strange if you got to experience all four seasons in a game that included a festival that lasted just a few weeks.

Each season can roughly take a real world week to end & every season can have a different impact on the gameplay & environment.

You can race with other players who are linked or you can play alone with Drivatars that is available in Forza Horizon 4. The developers have worked hard to create a seamless transition b/w the two. Earlier it’s been a case where a loss in internet connection was responsible for a loss in progress & being booted to title screens. Now if you are playing the game & your internet connection fails then real world drivers simply get swapped out for their Drivatars, which is a big change in Forza Horizon 4.

The E3 trailer presented the beginning of Forza Horizon 4, the first race that described the festival & seasons. You can now race to the festival which takes you through the Lake District at first in summer, & you can drive at impossible velocity on a forest-y open road & it is a unique experience. You can race through snow, rain, sun & a stunning autumnal run before reaching the festival. You can also ride bikes for the first time in the series.

The game takes you from highlands to country roads to city streets & Forza Horizon 4 include 450 vehicles.

Forza Horizon 4 have a shared open world where co-op can be integrated into the main game & also the game includes a multiplayer mode & you can also play single player as well.

The transition b/w seasons can affect all drivers in the same way. As the seasons change, the weather changes & it means the conditions for driving also changes including the roads. There is a lake in Forza Horizon 4 which freezes during winters & drivers are able to drive across it when they could not during summer season.

You can buy houses & customize them & you can also own a taxi company & take people from place to place ASAP or you can become a stunt driver.
