Metro Exodus is set to release on 15 February, 2019:

Metro Exodus is set to launch earlier than its previously set release date. Deep Silver & 4A Games made an announcement that Metro Exodus has “gone gold” & it is set to release on 15 February, 2019. Earlier it was set to launch on 22 February.

Deep Silver CEO Klemens Kundratitz mentioned the reason behind releasing Metro Exodus earlier. He said that Metro Exodus was announced at E3 2017 & fans are waiting to play this game. He added that they delayed Metro Exodus to make sure 4A Games had enough time to deliver their ambitious vision for the game but now they are happy to announce that the Metro Exodus has “gone gold” so they are ready to bring the launch date earlier.

Metro Exodus seems like it will follow Metro concept instead of going open-world. Metro Exodus is not an open world game & it is a series of levels, & you can play them in linear order, & you still have classic Metro style levels when Metro Exodus begins; it will feel very familiar, & at E3 we saw the first of these new vast levels & it is called sandbox survival levels. You can end one level in several hours.
