Pokemon Sword & Pokemon Shield Review:

Latest trailer of Pokemon Sword & Shield revealed new Pokemon attacks & abilities, along with some new items that can be used in fight. 

Breaking Swipe attack can hit 2 enemies at the same time, lowering their attack.

Corviknight has a new skill called Mirror Armor which allows the Pokemon to reflect stat lowering effects back at the rival.

Some of the Pokemon have rare abilities which are unlike their ordinary abilities. These rare abilities are known as hidden abilities. In this game the Pokemon captured in Max Raid battles might possess hidden abilities. There is an opportunity to fight against a special Pokemon who is able to Gigantamax in Max Raid Battles. Also in very rare cases you can fight a Pokemon who possesses hidden ability & is capable of Gigantamax.

Battle Stadium:

In this game connect to the internet & fight against Trainers from around the globe in the Battle Stadium. Game features like rental teams & online competitions allow players to play with other trainers.

For using battle stadium, you need to avail paid Switch online membership.

Ranked Battles:

In ranked battles, challenge other trainers from around the world. Use the services of your trained battle team & your objective is to become the most powerful trainer in the world. You will be ranked based on how powerful trainer you are. The rank will alter based on the outcomes of fights. Also other trainers will have a similar rank which means the fights will be more entertaining & difficult.

Casual Battles:

The casual battles will not let you worry about winning or losing Pokemon battles. One more feature of such battles is the use of certain legendary Pokemon & mythical Pokemon that are not allowed in ranked battles.

Battle Rules:

2 formats are used in Pokemon Sword & Shield battles. Fight against other trainers in single & double battle formats. Such formats are used in ranked & casual battles as well.

Online Competitions:

The 2 categories of online competitions can let you have fun fighting in official competitions & friendly competitions.

Official Competitions:

Official competitions let you compete in special fights with a different set of rules & restrictions for seeing yourself where you are ranked among other competitors. Certain competitions let you take part in the game World Championships if you do good in those competitions.

Friendly Competitions:

Friendly competitions give you access to join competitions created by others but there is an opportunity for you to host a competition.

Dynamaxing & max moves:

By dynamaxing, Pokemon not only become huge but it can boost their power as well. Using dynamaxing, Pokemon can become very powerful & they are controlling the course of a fight. The Max Moves used by Dynamax Pokemon are not only powerful but have extra effects too.

Pokemon Sword & Shield’s new abilities:

New abilities are available in Sword & Shield. One of such ability is Galarian Weezing's neutralizing gas ability which neutralizes the ongoing effects of other Pokemon’s abilities & even stops their abilities from being activated.

Galarian Weezing will release neutralizing gas which will fill the region as soon as it enters the arena. Once Weezing leaves the arena, the abilities of the other Pokemon will be triggered once again.

New items of the game will expand the tactics used in fights. These include items that can combo with specific moves to give you an edge in fights.

Pokemon Sword & Shield video reveals evil squad, 2 new enemies, & the Galarian forms of Pokemon:

Bede is a boy wearing a maroon coat & his hairs are curly. Bede is a skilled Pokemon trainer who has joined the Gym Challenge. He is an enemy of Pokemon Sword & Shield.

Marnie is a girl & she is an ostensible head of Team Yell, a team of gangsters. They attempt to interfere with Pokemon trainers to support Marnie in winning the championship.

Pokemon Sun & Moon reveals a new form of Pokemon known as Alolan form, in which Pokemon grow in different ways due to their presence in new climate. Pokemon existing in Galar area are in different form such as Galarian form.

New Pokemon & variants are also shown in the presentation. Zigzagoon is a returning Pokemon & he is available in black & white galarian form.

Galarian Weezing is a new Pokemon who has a chimney top hat & he can suck polluted air through his mouth & from the chimney he releases clean air.

Electric mouse is a new Pokemon & his name is Morpeko. His move changes based on his hunger. He has 2 modes such as full belly mode & hangry mode. In full belly mode, he is an electric/dark type while in the latter mode he changes to Dark type.
