Unlike Minecraft, there is no construction or crafting in Minecraft Dungeons. It is a dungeon crawler game, where you can explore randomly-generated dungeons where monsters live. Monsters too are generated randomly. It means if you play again you would find different dungeons with monsters appearing in different areas. The game allows you to set ambushes, solve riddles, & find loot. Class system is not available; instead you can use any weapon or armor you want. It includes up to a 4 player local & online multiplayer.

The developers actually wanted to build a game with a human antagonist, who could attack from distance, & he had a fast-follow hunting mechanism. The game allows you to escape undead instead of encountering them, & creators wished to build something that would encourage battle. Those features are available in Minecraft Dungeons.  

The game does not feature a classical, role playing game progression system, & it does not force gamers into specific roles.

The game does not include classes, so building your hero is based on the enchantments attached to any weapon or armor piece, & this can let you create a powerful hero.

You can craft weapons in this game so everything depends on enchantment system. The game allows you to discover objects that are already enchanted, but in order to activate their abilities you will need to receive XP from finishing dungeons. If you get a weapon with awesome enchantments, you can sell your old weapon to get enchantment points & use them on the new treasure you have discovered.

Enchantments are not just for heroes. Enemies are able to use them too & cause destruction.
