Differences in NBA 2K21 vs NBA 2K20 Graphics:

NBA 2K21 look like NBA 2K20 in graphics. I think NBA 2K21 is similar to the games released in earlier few years, & hopefully will be better on next-gen consoles which will give it a graphical boost. 2 major problems such as CPU mishandling clock management & athletes dropping the basketball awkwardly as soon as the shot clock runs out, haven’t been fixed. However, some of the features have been tweaked a bit using upgrades & a fresh shot-stick feature, but gameplay hasn’t been drastically changed.

If you capture a video of NBA 2K21 & NBA 2K20 side by side, then it would be very difficult for you to find out the difference in visuals. NBA series is strong looking since years due to its authenticity to original sports but still the series is not improving at a rapid pace since last few years. Some of the player’s faces do not provide enough detail & large athletes are not authentically recreated in game & don’t have the same type of massive presence they have in their life outside the game.

Differences in NBA 2K21 vs NBA 2K20 Gameplay:

A fresh shot stick feature that allows you to aim rather than only timing shot, can be used completely using the right analog stick.

On-court gameplay has been fixed a bit. You can experience a bit better spacing in the half court, but it is still simple to close out on 3 point shots. Blocking shots, & the animations for them, looks upgraded & the basketball moves in a better & predictable way. These are just few & you can see more improvements with ball.

The new aim-meter feature can help players in online mode in major ways. A few small problems have been fixed, but many of the major gameplay problems haven’t been fixed. Alone shot-stick mechanic can offer a lot more possibilities.

Differences in NBA 2K21 vs NBA 2K20 Modes:

NBA 2K21 is set to be launched on next-gen consoles too. So a lot of fans are hoping to use cross play feature but unfortunately the game does not offer cross play b/w different platforms & generation of consoles.

NBA 2K21 does not offer cross-play or cross-gen play but you can transfer your data from MyTeam mode to next-gen if you choose to upgrade in the same console family. Your progress & virtual currency will be transferred to next-gen if you decide to upgrade. MyCareer mode progress can’t be transferred because 2K has improved MyCareer for next-gen. It is an upgraded version of MyCareer on current consoles & a different game.

NBA 2K20 features all 12 WNBA teams & more than 140 athletes & ready to run Play Now & Season modes. The game offers women’s unique gameplay animations, gameplay styles & graphics.

MyPlayer Builder allows you to experience more control than before. Fresh MyPlayer Builders let you make choices on every feature of your MyPlayer’s potential, such as deciding your own Takeover. The game includes more than 100 archetypes & 50 new badges; the number of combinations are almost infinite.
