Differences between Baldur’s Gate III vs Baldur’s Gate II – Combat Comparison:

The battle of Baldur’s Gate III takes a new approach & it is unlikely Baldur’s Gate II & I. The game first offered a real time with pause combat system that can be seen from a top down, isometric perspective. Gamers had more time to decide their move due to the pause feature, but most of it take place fairly fast.

The most recent game in the series has combat very similar to Divinity Original Sin 2 series, which uses turn based combat system, & you have as much time as you wish to plan your hero’s actions. Your group of characters have a set amount of initiative, & it is in comparison to the rival’s initiative. If they have greater initiative, they will take first turn, & if your initiative is greater, you & your group mates will get the chance to make first move. Every hero in your group has a certain number of movement depending on the speed. Game actions are divided into bonus actions & regular actions.

User interface of player is divided into 2 sections. Health is shown on the left side of screen & you can see movement on the right. You can find ability points above health, which you can utilize to perform high powered attacks or spells. A combination of these skills act as a bonus action, & those points are located above the movement bar. It is up to you to decide how these are broken up, but when you lose them, it is the end of your turn. On the lower right section, you can witness how combat progresses. Hovering over any of the action regions can help you find full information of the rolls, bonuses, & what went on from both rivals & friends.

 

Differences between Baldur’s Gate 3 vs Baldur’s Gate 2 – Graphics Comparison:

Camera in Baldur’s Gate 3 does not show action from isometric perspective but now you can experience gameplay from a free top down perspective in which you are about to alter your camera angle, zoom, & change the observation of gameplay. The alter in the camera is because of the new combat system, & it allows you to analyze your choices more thoroughly than if you were viewing a real time combat happen.

The visuals & art of the game are mostly influenced by Divinity Original Sin 2.  

 

Differences between Baldur’s Gate 3 vs Baldur’s Gate 2 – Character choice, species, & classes:

After playing the game for first time, you are given option to customize your hero or choose one from a list of available heroes. Origin Story characters are taken from Larian Studio’s other game Divinity Original Sin 2. These heroes had a pre-built history who had connected to the world, & every one of them had an exclusive mission for you to advance through while completing the main narrative. In Baldur’s Gate III, you can customize them & modify their stats, & skills but it is not possible to change their class.

There are a number of species choices in Baldur’s Gate III. The game allows you to choose human, Elf, Tiefling, Drow, Dwarf, Halfling, Half-elf, Half-drow, Githyanki, & more cool kinds of characters.

A number of classes are available in Baldur’s Gate 3 & it consists of Cleric, Wizard, Warlock, Rogue, Fighter & Ranger.
