Comparison between King Arthur Knight’s Tale vs XCOM:

King Arthur: Knight’s Tale is a new tactical role playing game. This game is focused on melee combat. The game focuses on positioning of your heroes & you need to use your attack & defense tactics well in order to be victorious on the battlefield. Lots of focus is given to close range combat that involves melee weapons.

Combats of King Arthur: Knight’s Tale take the good of XCOM & Baldur’s Gate. Combat arena is split into squares, which allows gamers to move b/w. Moving closer to rival will allow opponent to attack you. If rivals come in the close range of your heroes, then they will be punished too. Positioning of characters is crucial part of the game because it is a tactical RPG & you need to protect your defenseless backline if you position your characters well, but you must be aware of rival positions when you are finding your way to attack enemy.

Characters on the arena could block your attack for lower damage. If you hit enemy in the back, then you can damage him double. Some of the legends could use dash to their advantage which allows them to quickly close the distance to rivals.

Weapons of the legends will have an impact on the attack of characters.

King Arthur: Knight’s Tale is a turn based strategy game which allows little teams of knights fighting squads of creatures & other horrific monsters as you search for the lost King Arthur.

I think that King Arthur: Knight’s Tale will be similar to XCOM as it would create teams of heroes, & you would feel the pain when your top sniper dies in the battle, or your medic.

King Arthur Knight’s Tale is very similar to XCOM like turn based tactical strategy game which focuses mainly on role playing game elements.

The narrative of the game focuses more on moral decisions, which have a number of consequences in a rogue like structure, & there is more tension in the tactical & management choices.

You can select from over 30 legends that are classified into 5 different classes to make the best squad. Also you can enjoy permadeath very similar to XCOM.
