Sonic Forces is an action-adventure platformer game developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega and was released for PC Windows, PS4, Xbox One & Nintendo Switch on 7 November, 2017. Sonic Forces is the edition in the Sonic the Hedgehog sequence. It was created by Sonic Team and it was earlier exposed at The Tokyo Joy polis Sonic twenty fifth party in 2016. At the conclusion of the party they released the 1st teaser trailer. The developers made sure they returned to the collaboration b/w typical and modern Sonic, since the 20th anniversary video game Sonic generations. In spite of the early admired idea, though this game is not a follow-up to the earlier Sonic series. Sonic is created by renowned Sonic Team that had recently created Sonic Colors & Sonic Generations. Some people thought that it was a follow up to Classic & Modern Sonic but then it was revealed that it was not a follow up but a new video game that is not linked with any other title. Sega proclaimed 2 Sonic video games in their 25th anniversary including Sonic Forces and Sonic Mania, both of them are for current generation consoles.
   

Sonic Forces Gameplay:

In the game player has to overcome Doctor Eggman and his robots. The game has three gameplay modes and each has unique abilities and attributes: first one is "Classic", side-scrolling gameplay like the original Sega Genesis Sonic video games; second one is "Modern", 3D gameplay like Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Colors; and third one is the "Avatar", the player's custom character. There are also golden rings that is a form of health for player. Some levels have a boss, which need to be overcome to progress.

Sonic Forces gameplay is completely different from the recently released titles Sonic Colors & Sonic Generations and a complete new experience. The game also took some concepts from the earlier games but not a follow up to Sonic Colors and Sonic Generation as it has copied some materials from those games but it is a new title and the game’s tone has been largely disguised to be Darker and Edgier than earlier games in the series.   

Sonic Forces Plot:

In the game, Sonic the Hedgehog joins a resistance to stop Doctor Eggman. A huge destruction machine has destroyed the entire city. Sonic must confront the opponents in order to protect the town.

When the game begins darkness start spreading in the earth and there is an urge for a hero who can handle such disastrous situation as everything was on fire but luckily a hero Sonic starts running to overcome the dark forces who has spread disturbance. Then a friend of Sonic helps him out in encountering dark forces. In the game players begin encountering against a huge crushing machine which has crushed the entire town.

The Verdict: 

Always give credit where it is due as it is a lot better than Sonic Boom, being a fun Sonic game. The game has three different directions. I loved those classic Sonic levels just like in Generations but it could have been even better. Graphics, music are so good. Most of the game was fun.
