Cross Platform Fortnite – Crossplay Fortnite on PS4, PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch & Mobile devices:

PS4 users can now play Fortnite with those on other consoles. Sony finally allowed Fortnite users the opportunity to play with players on other consoles. The platform cross play open beta is released & it works on Fortnite Season 6. It allows you to share gameplay & progress in battle royale game across PS4, PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, & Smartphone. For the past few month, the Sony did not allow Fortnite fans to play & share their progress across platforms, despite that functionality being available in other versions of the game. Sony’s response to this issue was PlayStation 4 was the best platform to play Fortnite, suggesting that it is not required to allow cross play with other platforms, but fans pushed Sony & finally Sony launched cross play open beta for Fortnite.

Sony made an announcement regarding this issue on the PlayStation Blog. “Following a comprehensive evaluation process, Sony Interactive Entertainment has identified a path toward supporting cross-platform features for select third party content,"

The president of SIE John Kodera wrote. "We recognize that PS4 players have been eagerly awaiting an update, and we appreciate the community’s continued patience as we have navigated through this issue to find a solution."

We don’t know how much time Sony will take to release the final version. Fortnite Season 6 has been officially released so gamers can play the game with & continue their progress on other platforms. Epic Games released a new battle pass for purchase, which can be leveled up to unlock cosmetic skins & other rewards.
