The gameplay mechanics are hardly changed when compared to mechanics of the previous games. However, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 3 provides fast paced combat due to the assignment of particular actions to controller’s buttons.

Discover world of this game, finish many missions, & improve hero. The camera is set to show all action from third person perspective & the game features 3D models. You can freely look around during gameplay. More dialogue options are available & during world exploration; you can hear the conversation b/w non playable characters.

Combats in the game are turn based & allow you to give order to the squad mates. The game features combo system to make combat even more dynamic. Combats in the game are faster & now many combat commands are map out to specific buttons.

The series is impressive because of the depth it offers when it comes to turn based combats & it has an absorbing story & in every new installment the series progresses towards an interesting direction. The big world of this game has its tensions that feel exciting. The way the history & story reveals has been a fascinating part of the adventure. It is a role playing game & the game focuses on multiple characters rather than focusing on just protagonist.

I like turn based combat system because many options are available to you. You need to use your mind instead of just attacking opponents by tapping the button. Also you need to find the weakness of opponent, & time your attacks.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 3 is a follow-up to the earlier 2 “Trails of Cold Steel” titles. Narrative is focused on “Rean Schwarzer” who is the dominant character & presently serving as a military professor. He along with his pupils & friends are tasked to discover the mystery regarding origins of birth of Rean. Trails of Cold Steel 3 also depicted Tita & Agate who appeared in “Trails in the Sky” as well as Tio & Randy, characters from “Trails from Zero & Trails to Azure”.

Rean is the main playable character in this game & he is depicted as a trainer at the Military Academy.  He along with his students are directed by the kingdom to decide clashes arising all over the kingdom of Erebonia. In the developing scenario one of his pupils mischievously attacked the monarch & injured him. The monarch after recovery, blames the bordering Calvard Republic for the assault. Protagonist & his companions contacted Roselia of the Hexen Clan, a sorceress having surveillance over Erebonia for decades. Roselia clarifies that more than a 1000 years ago, Erebonia's forefathers had battle between them using the Sept-Terrions of Earth & Fire. Both finally destroyed each other & welded to become the Sept-Terrion of Steel, known as the ‘Great One’. Apprehending the threat, 2 parties, the Hexen & the Gnomes, divided the ‘Great One’ into 7 parts & hid them in the 7 Divine Knights. Protagonist finds out that Chancellor Osborne, Ouroboros, & the Gnomes, have joined hands to launch Great One's Curse all over Zemuria, which would destroy the earth. Protagonist & his buddies try to prevent Chancellor Osborne, but Rean accidentally releases the Curse. Chancellor Osborne then arrests him.
