Valkyria Chronicles 4 is a role playing video game developed & published by Sega. Valkyria Chronicles 4 is the fifth edition in the Valkyria series. It was released for PS4 & Xbox One on 25 September, 2018.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 has the elements of art style turn based combat from the older versions, as you take orders from Commander Claude Wallace & his friends as they fight imperial army, the Valkyria. The game is set in hard winter conditions.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 is available for Nintendo Switch for the 1st time. It was hard for Sega to develop the game for Nintendo Switch as they had to improve the “Canvas” watercolor system to offer a better hand drawn look. They have enriched the shaders high contrasts b/w the shadows & color saturations.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 was released for Xbox One for the 1st time, engaging more gamers from different platforms to play this stunning video game. The developers said that they had been working on Valkyria Chronicles 4 for past 2 years. 

Valkyria Chronicles 4 Gameplay:

Valkyria Chronicles 4 offers strategy gameplay like the earlier 3 games. They are helped by allied soldiers who can provide them the battlefield info. They can use this info to fire without being detected by enemies.

The game relies more on story b/w tactical wars where you can control many units at one time to strategically achieve victory in battle.

There is no need to play earlier games in the Valkyria Chronicles series to fully enjoy the game, all you need is to play its latest sequel which has a fully different story & it will teach you the ropes as you start. It also has automated & smoothed certain systems from earlier games to make it more accessible for fresh gamers or those who wish to focus more on the strategy than with juggling systems.

You can proceed with the universe established in earlier video games with new heroes. The game also offers larger maps than the earlier games, more units are available on the map at a time, & other tweaks to fight.

The Brave system is used when an allied unit is attacked & he is about to pass away. When it is used, you can consume 1 CP & it can boost the stats of allied soldiers with the “Entrust” ability or can restore 1 AP with the skill to move & hit the enemy while being invincible for 1 action with the “Stand Up” ability.

You can have a view of a battlefield with both your friends & enemies. During your turn, you can use action points to move heroes, attack rivals, heal friends. Your soldiers are divided into 2 different classes, which lets them to do different actions. Your units are able to shoot from long distance, attack up close, cure other units, move farther than the rest & so on.

The units possess certain personality traits that can help or hinder them & they are able to interact with other units. 2 friend armies might encourage one another, though a unit who is nervous might have difficulty firing under certain conditions.

Each quest has different goals, which may also include capturing points or saving a certain character. You must use strategy, while taking into account battlefield layouts, classes & traits to determine the best way to achieve those goals in each battle.

Ultimately you can do certain things outside of battles, such as visiting R&D, to upgrade your characters, vehicles, & weaponry.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 Story:

The game is set in the same period as the Valkyria Chronicles but it is based on new heroes. The year is 1935 EC & Valkyria Chronicles 4 takes place in Europa. The game history tells that 2nd Europan Battle was fought b/w Eastern Imperial Alliance & the Atlantic Federation. In an attempt to end the battle & capture the imperial capital, the Federation starts Operation Northern Cross. The commander Claude Wallace & his allies in Squad E are on a mission to battle imperial forces & the Valkyria.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 Release date:

Valkyria Chronicles 4 is going to release for the first time on Nintendo Switch on 16 October, 2018. Valkyria Chronicles 4 was launched for PC Windows, Xbox One & PS4 on 24 September, 2018.
