Shadow Warrior 2 is a first person shooter RPG developed by Flying Wild Hog and published by Devolver Digital and was released for Windows in October, 2016 and for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in May, 2017. The game is a follow up to the 2013 Shadow Warrior. Play solo or even play multiplayer online in 4 hero’s co-op with some of your friends. The game has a speedy accessible sword and shooting mechanics that makes it even more interesting.

Shadow Warrior 2 Story:

Shadow Warrior 2 has a decent story about a young lady whose soul gets trapped in Wang’s body but their efforts to restore the woman’s soul to her own body by eliminating lots of dark forces and robots does not matter so much as their endless banter about each other & the surroundings.

Lo Wang’s fight against the darkness corrupted the whole world by creating a new order where human and dark forces exist side by side with each other leading to a conflict between the people and dark forces. The once feared warrior now live a low life in silence and is hired by the local Yakuza clans. After a simple mission goes wrong, Lo Wang finds himself in a fight against the dark forces.

 Shadow Warrior 2 Gameplay:
Gamer can play a single player mode or a 4 player co-op mode. In the multiplayer co-op mode, each gamer is Lo Wang but sees other gamers as ninjas. The game has randomly assembled levels design and content, that means randomized map, terrain, weather conditions, buildings and enemy positions can change every time player play the same mission. Player can climb walls and can do double jumping. Game has an open-ended structure as the gamer can revisit completed missions to fight defeated enemies to upgrade character's skills and can also go to a hub area to get quests in order to upgrade Wang skills before the start of a regular mission. Gamer can enjoy undertaking demanding key quests or breathtaking sub missions using ninja approach while gathering objects, and precious plunder from victories. There are over 70 different weapons in the game. Player can upgrade swords and other weapons to increase damage it exerts on the enemies. 

When you play as Lo Wang, you can use tons of weapons. When you eliminate rivals, it will upgrade your weapons and reward you with gems to level up your equipment with element properties and buffs.

Now you have a chance to breath in open environments that are bigger than what we have seen in the first part. You can complete primary missions to progress through the game story & you can also play side missions which will help you in upgrading your weapons & equipment.

Now you can climb wall & perform double jump using new traversal mechanics. Your mission structure is not that much restricted as compared to the original game. Now you can revisit the missions you had already completed to beat the past rivals to help upgrade Wang’s abilities.

Shadow Warrior 2 features a hub area where you can receive missions & level up your skills before starting a new quest. Every quest, except for story specific events, will feature procedurally generated level design & content. Every time you play the quest, you will see randomness in your enemies, environment & even buildings.

Four Player Co-Op:

Fight alone or play multiplayer as a 4 hero co-op against the dark forces. Play primary missions or side quests using customizable armor, equipment’s and loot.

Procedural Environments:

Randomly generated landscapes and travelling paths creates confusion in routine missions that bring extra twist to the game.

Brutal Damage System:

Select weapon that can be useful in a particular situation.

Custom Upgrade System:

Upgrade weapons with up to three stones at once in order to improve performance.

Shadow Warrior 2 Release date:

Shadow Warrior 2 was released on PC Windows on 13 October, 2016 and later on 19 May, 2017 it was released on PS4 & Xbox One.

The Verdict:

I have played the game for so many weeks and am still loving to play it. The randomly assembled levels in which everything can change is quite remarkable as you can never know what to expect next even if you are playing the same mission again. The game has got a very detailed graphic. For me the most striking things are the powerful weapons that can be used to eliminate monsters and make them look like a laughing stock.  Considerable improvement has been made compared to the previous installment. The collector triggering upgrade system to improve performance and to enhance Lo Wang’s power is outstanding.
