Question: 48 ÷ 2 (9 + 3) = ?

Solving viral math problem:

We can use PEMDAS to solve this expression. First of all, we need to solve operators inside bracket.

= 48 ÷ 2 (9 + 3)

= 48 ÷ 2 (12)

= 48 ÷ 2 x 12

In PEMDAS rule, multiplication comes before division but these 2 operators have same priority, & if an expression has both multiply & divide operators then we need to solve from left to right. Division comes before multiplication so we should first divide.

= 48 ÷ 2 x 12

24 x 12 = 288

Answer = 288

Question: Solve a math expression: 7 + 7 x 7 + 7 ÷ 7 - 7

Solve Maths Questions with PEMDAS

We are going to solve this expression using PEMDAS:

= 7 + 7 x 7 + 7 ÷ 7 - 7

Multiple operators are used to solve above problem. I am going to solve operator that has higher priority. Multiplication & division are both used & both of them have same priority so we can solve from left to right. So first we need to solve multiplication:

= 7 + 49 + 7 ÷ 7 - 7

Now we can solve division:

= 7 + 49 + 1 - 7

Addition & subtraction have same priority so we proceed from left to right:

= 7 + 50 - 7

Answer = 50

Hence correct choice from the figure is C. 50

Question: Solve a math expression: 18 ÷ 3 (5 – 4 + 1) = 3 or 12

Answer) The above math expression uses multiple operators including parenthesis so we need to apply PEMDAS rule to solve it.

18 ÷ 3 (5 – 4 + 1) = 3 or 12

Sol) Now I am going to solve the above math question using PEMDAS. First I need to solve operators within parenthesis. When I look inside parenthesis, I see (5 – 4 + 1). There are 2 operators “-” & “+“. When we see PEMDAS, addition comes before subtraction, but addition & subtraction has same priority. In such case we need to solve operators from left to right.

= 18 ÷ 3 x (5 - 4 + 1)
= 18 ÷ 3 x (1 + 1)
= 18 ÷ 3 x (2)
= 18 ÷ 3 x 2

Again there are 2 operators “/” & “x” with same priority. So operator on the left must be solved first.

= 18 ÷ 3 x 2
= 6 x 2

Answer = 12

  1. It's wrong, because=>12/2/3/2=6/1/3/2 not equal to 6/3/2 so 6/1/3/2=6/1*2/3=2/1*2/1=2*2=4
    And it's right ans...
