Samurai Shodown 2 Review, Gameplay, Release date, New Fighters, Price & More:

We have added everything we know about Samurai Shodown II including its review, gameplay, new characters, release date, price & more you can find in this review.

Samurai Shodown 2 is working hard to find its place after so much time it lost. It did not get a home console port in the 90’s & branching out onto the SNES or Genesis as its first part did. It was only enjoyed by a small fan community close to the Neo Geo though it is a very good game. The game is making its name after lost time now. It is a part of the Samurai Shodown Anthology compilation package.

Samurai Shodown 2 is a head to head fighting video game that presents the 90s arcades. Samurai Shodown 2 is a new edition to the game that shifted the focus of the contesting genre by giving weapons to all of its players.

Samurai Shodown II Gameplay:

Samurai Shodown 2 - New Fighters:

4 new characters have been added in the sequel while the game also includes original characters from first part.

Total number of Fighters in Samurai Shodown II:

Samurai Shodown 2 features 15 playable characters after the inclusion of four new characters. The game does not focus completely on the new characters but in addition every old character has been refined & upgraded.

New Movement options introduced in Samurai Shodown II:

New movement options are available for every character. The characters can forward roll, quick hops & ducks. The new movement options increase the chances of escaping the opponent strikes with a fast hop or duck & then you can counter strike rather than jumping in the air to escape it or just block to take the strike. The opponent AI is not shy about exploiting the new mechanic & spamming distance strikes against opponents will seldom work in your favor.

How to destroy foe’s weapon?

The skill to fully crush your opponent’s weapon has been included in the new name as well. In first game you could only disarm your opponent but they were able to pick up their weapon. But now with best timing & luck, you have a chance to break the opponent’s weapon.

You can also pick up weapon randomly thrown during fight:

There is a man named Hikyaku who randomly throws weapon during encounters so there is a chance he might throw a new weapon. He also throws recovery items & other stuff during encounter. The player can also use their bare hands after their weapon is broken completely, which is a new feature included in the game.

All of the new modifications & new playable characters have made the game a good sequel. The difficulty of the game is high because when you play the single player campaign against an AI controlled by computer, it will be very difficult for you to knock him out. There is an adjustable challenge meter in the options which can change the difficulty level to beginner. There are 9 levels of difficulty to choose from.

Samurai Shodown II costs only 9 bucks:

Samurai Shodown 2 might not be far better than Samurai Shodown but still you can spend your money on a game which is fun.
