NBA Live 19 is a basketball simulation video game developed by EA Tiburon & published by EA Sports. NBA Live 19 is the twenty second installment in the NBA Live series & it is the sequel to NBA Live 18.

EA launched an expansive demo of the game in August. Start your journey in The One & if you made progress in the demo then it can be used in the complete version of NBA Live 19.

NBA Live 19 was released on 7 September, 2018 on PS4 & Xbox One.

Comparison of NBA 2K19 & NBA Live 19:

NBA 2K19 is the strongest competitor of NBA Live 19. The former is better than the latter in gameplay. We do not expect that the NBA Live 19 would be better than NBA 2K19 as we have played both series from beginning. 2K Sports is developing NBA 2K series & EA Sports is developing NBA Live series.

Although we have seen that there are still some annoyances to deal with in NBA 2K games. Some overzealous player animations make us feel as though we have lost control of our team but still the game has the edge.  

You can play most of the NBA 2K19 modes online with your friends / family.

2K also provides the superior team building mode known as MyTeam where you can gather your players’ card to have them in your team. You can choose your favorite players in your team & you can compete other teams. In recent years 2K offers regular content updates to keep their modes fresh.

NBA 2K19 has dominated in almost every field but NBA Live 19 is making a roaring return. It aims to provide a simulation style gameplay but they are not as good as 2K Games.

EA has built a solid foundation 2 years ago & they are working hard. Now they are eligible to boast a competent basketball simulation video game that’s worth considering. We have seen improvement in overall player movement. NBA Live 19 feels much smoother than NBA Live 18 because of its fresh streamlined dribbling mechanic & the physics based Real Player Movement engine.

NBA 2K19 has an awesome basketball simulation style with huge shooting, passing and dribbling techniques. 2K has good GM Mode and online features. This game features a deep team management mode that helps in running a successful franchise and player can compete in many of these modes including blacktop and more league based modes online.

NBA Live seems an underdog compared to NBA 2K. After the success of NBA Live 18, EA decided to put in more budget and effort for NBA Live 19. NBA Live 18 concepts were used for NBA Live 19. After watching the game's trailers and some gameplay now we have screenshots of NBA superstars like Chris Paul, James Harden, Steph Curry and others. We wanted to capture the screenshots of same players in NBA Live 18 in order to compare them to those of NBA Live 19.

Comparison of NBA Live 19 & NBA Live 18:

In terms of graphic comparison of NBA Live 18 and NBA Live 19 look at the visual differences of player models but we found out there is no big difference in terms of visuals. EA Sports takes its time but as usual NBA games always pay off in all aspects especially in terms of graphics.

NBA Live 19 Gameplay:

WNBA Play Now Functionality Introduced:

EA included women players to be part of NBA Live 19 for the first time. EA has taken female inclusion in the game to the next level. WNBA is still playable in Play Now but you can create a female athlete for use in The One mode & she can play against the men in the street & Pro-Am games.

We can see the role of female athletes increase in NBA Live 19. You have to wait longer to see a complete WNBA franchise mode or to have a female athlete advance to the WNBA the way men in the ONE can ultimately reach the NBA.

Improvements in NBA Live 19 visuals:

NBA Live 19 visuals are improved because we have seen screenshots that shows improved renders for characters. We have seen that characters faces are a little better than what we have seen in NBA Live 18.

NBA Live 19 uses real Player Motion technology:

The Real Player Motion technology is used for the first time by EA Sports in NBA Live 19. This technology has been used in various Sports games by EA Sports. You can find this technology in EA Sports UFC & now we expect to have better results after the introduction of this technology in NBA Live.

The One Court:

The One Court has new features in NBA Live 19. It is a customizable field that you can compete against other players. You can find some very important customization options & this sort of create a venue concept is excellent for sports video games.

Global Courts:

You can find courts that are rendered gorgeously. You can find improvements in Paris, Brazil & a few other courts. The idea of using global courts is excellent which EA Sports can further expand in upcoming NBA Live games.

The new commentators include Ed Cohen & Jay Williams.

Ultimate Team & Franchise Modes:

EA Sports has not added much about what new features are included in Ultimate Team. If you find a post which says 19 reasons to buy NBA Live 19, you won’t find the Ultimate Team so we think that this mode has not received much attention. Same goes for the franchise mode. EA needs to pay more attention to the Ultimate Team & Franchise mode.
