Players' base of Sanctuary in Borderlands 3 is a spaceship:

In Borderlands 2, the base of operations of players was Sanctuary which was a town constructed on the remnants of a mining ship. Now players’ base is Sanctuary 3 & it is a spaceship. Players will not only orbit Pandora in this game but will visit other worlds too.

Players can decorate their rooms with weapons along with purchasing new weapons at Marcus Munitions. There are slot machines at Moxxi’s bar on the spaceship where players can try their luck. Sir Hammerlock has a space on spaceship where players can mount trophies of the monsters they have eliminated. Crazy Earl is on the spaceship, running the Black Market where players can spend Eridium they gather. Players can interact with more familiar characters on the ship.

The Handsome Jackpot is in disorder because of raiders, & now you can complete side quests & crew challenges, fight against rivals & bosses, & collect new weapons & gear. New cosmetic items are available as well as new weapon trinkets & fresh emotes.

To access The Handsome Jackpot you must have unlocked Sanctuary 3. This DLC is part of the Borderlands 3 season pass & players can buy it individually too.

Borderlands 3 will include microtransactions in the form of cosmetic items:

Players can purchase skins, heads & auxiliary items in Borderlands 3.

Players may need to buy microtransactions in Borderlands 3 that include skins & the game will also include a purchasable DLC.

Earlier Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said that the upcoming game will not include microtransactions but now they made it clear that microtransactions will be available.

It will include cosmetic items including character, vehicle & weapon skins that you can buy with cash. But there won’t be any pay to win items that you can buy.
