The Outer Worlds franchise could be Microsoft exclusive:

The Outer Worlds looks amazing in development & the game is set to be launched on 25 October 2019. It will be available on PS4, Xbox One, PC & Nintendo Switch. The Outer Worlds is developed by Obsidian.

Speaking to Game Informer, Head of Xbox Studios Matt Booty said that Microsoft thinks The Outer Worlds can be an enduring franchise. We believe that The Outer Worlds can be another Xbox exclusive franchise. Microsoft acquired Obsidian last year.

Matt thinks that the sequel could be available on all platforms or it could be exclusively launched on Xbox One. Matt believes that The Outer Worlds could have a sequel because the game focuses on a large universe & a gripping story.

He added that Xbox has multiple exclusive projects, before the launch of Xbox Project Scarlett. But he is not sure whether those exclusive titles will be ready till the launch of Project Scarlett.
