The narrative of Little Town Hero is set in a remote village. The only gate which can let you see the outside world is heavily guarded & inhabitants are not allowed to leave this town. Most of the inhabitants are happy to live inside but you will control a boy which thinks differently. He wants to see the outside place.

One day a creature shows up in the village which surprises everybody because nobody knew before that such monsters existed. The little boy defeats the monster using the red stone he discovered in the coalmines. After defending the people, he unfolds the secret about creatures & stones.

Other role playing games allow players to constantly battle weak enemies to level up. In Little Town Hero, you have to devise a better plan to battle each boss creature one by one. It is up to you to beat those monsters & leave the boring village life.

The game uses a difficult combat system which depends mostly on new ideas & plans.
