Zen Studios has done it once again, as Operencia: The Stolen Sun is revolutionary in the video game market. It might not be the best grid based dungeon crawlers, but it is a charming sequel to the classics. I had fun ripping through the adversaries but the in-game environmental riddles slowed down my pace. I thoroughly enjoyed the game so I recommend this game to those who like a blend of combat & puzzle.

This is an ancient tale of Operencia, an imaginary kingdom located somewhere in Europe. The land is lightened by the rays of the sun king named Napkiraly. But he disappeared and the devotees are put in utter despair.

You are destined to lead a squad of extraordinary brave protagonists to recover the abductee king before the land falls in complete despondency.

It uses an immersive tactical turn based combat system which consists of spells & you can perform special abilities, & tile based movement in this game motivates you to explore every region. There could be further challenges, such as turning on Cartographer mode will let you plot out every map yourself. It is up to you to discover secrets.

Stunning cutscenes & beautiful 2D character portraits will bring the narrative to life in a style that can’t be simply compared to any other game. The game includes over 30 characters completely voiced.

Discover thirteen different, riddle filled stages. Beat over fifty adversary types. The game allows you to switch b/w seven completely upgrade able heroes.

You can use robust difficulty settings in the game that let you choose options which limits number of saves, allow you to use permadeath, & you can disable auto-mapping so that you can do it manually. Enjoy completely 3D environments, opponents & items, along with advanced effects that offers dynamic shadows & lightning.

The map of each stage lets you know how much of the environment you have explored & the number of secrets that aren’t discovered yet, which motivates you to do more exploration & complete the game hundred percent. You are allowed to return to earlier stages with fresh objects to crack old puzzles, including a magic feather that hovers & it is able to move weighty items, & magic boots that can be utilized to run over spike traps.

The game allows you to discover every stage, you will find wandering adversaries, that can be faced in turn based combats. The game uses straight forward battle that offers satisfaction; your 4 teammates take turns during combat which lets you attack adversaries using range & melee attacks, & you can use a variety of spells from first person view. Every hero has many special skills that can be unlocked, from curing to a destroying blade strike that can quickly eliminate an opponent. You need to use energy to trigger those skills, which you can recover using a defensive move that uses cool down feature. You can balance your group’s health & energy levels, & extending battle long enough to recover the energy. So you need to claim an efficient victory in fight as just winning is not desirable.

Battles, along with hidden treasure chests, provide new weapons & armor, which offer incremental upgrades to your team. Leveling up your character offers a range of passive skills & skill points, & each teammate receives experience points whether they are involved in battle or not. You will meet new people, discover new areas, & much more.
