State of Decay 2 is a survival horror video game set in a zombie apocalyptic world. The game is playable from third person perspective. Players can lead a group of survivors & make good plans to keep the team alive. They can upgrade their team & improve their skills & also collect resources they need; can construct the home base & it is up to players where they want to build it. They can also design & fortify their base just the way they want. Players can decide which members of their team can be risked, who can go to shop to get food & ammo. They can also decide when to make contracts with rest of the alive people who have their own aims & agendas.

State of Decay 2 offers unique experience as the game features an open, sandbox world which responds to players' choices. The choices players make can also result in some problems for them & their team because they will confront some challenges based upon those choices. Players can send the best survivor of the team to get medicines from the shop for an ill team member but they must note that the team mate might not come back. Players should help their neighbors & make new allies and may also offer food to those who need it.

State of Decay 2 provides a co-op multiplayer option that lets four players help each other in completing their objectives. The game offers unique co-op mechanic. It supports drop-in drop-out co-op but every player has to use a setting that, when turned on, let’s all players see who wants to help others & who is in need of help. Any player can fire a flare that shows that the player needs help. State of Decay 2 can then notify others with the “caning to help” status & they are able to join the game of the player who is in need of help with a button press.

State of Decay 2 is set in a Small-Town of America where dead have awakened & society has fallen into chaos. The zombies rose 15 months ago; the humanity ended & the civilization was abandoned by its rulers. The rest of the survivors are planning to make a team to stay alive, & find medicines & foods to end sickness & starvation. The survivors have to protect themselves against human enemies & hordes of zombies. The armed forces tried but could not stop the undead & now more & more people are transforming into zombie like creatures. There are still survivors out there & one of them is player's character. It depends upon players whether to join hands with the rest of alive people & make a team, use combined skills to get out of the town with the rest of the survivors.

Players have a base where they can protect themselves from the zombies & it is more than just a resting place. Players can save themselves from zombies by hiding in base & this is the zone where they can plan the best zombies eliminating strategies. They can upgrade the base by adding more facilities such as building a watch tower or planting a garden. They can also add a workshop & add an infantry to the base. They can upgrade team’s abilities, improve their capabilities & make the team stronger. Players can play State of Decay 2 in a 4 player co-op multiplayer mode or they can choose to play it alone. They can fight not only against zombies but also against human rivals. They need gear to protect themselves & their team. State of Decay 2 also lets players make choices but the choices have a lasting consequence that they must be ready to face.
The Verdict:
State of Decay 2 really feels cool. I greatly enjoyed the game. I am quite happy to see that the multiplayer co-op mode has been added & there are new maps available to explore. The best thing about the game is its survival aspect as you may have watched "The Walking Dead" TV Show & it shows how difficult it is to survive in a zombie world. On top of it is how to face human rivals who are more dangerous than the zombies.
