In NBA 2K20 there was a limit positions in MyTeam game mode to whatever was on their card. This means, if a player's card said he was a PF, then he had to be on the court, & every lineup had to contain one player at the five basketball positions (PG, SG, SF, PF, & C). Therefore, this controversial decision was a constraint for a player. In NBA 2K21 this controversial decision impact is reduced as there is the best cards fit for two positions.

NBA 2K21 features quite fast loading screen time. In the MyCAREER on NBA2K20, the loading time was slow but in NBA 2K21 the game loading is quick. The cinematic scenes are inspirational in NBA 2K21 due to graphical enhancement as the visuals & animations are far too realistic to the eyes.
