Larian Studios is taking Baldur’s Gate III is a new way. The latest game in the Baldur’s series is more like Divinity Original Sin 2 because it has copied lots of features from Sin 2. Comparison between Baldur’s Gate 3 vs Divinity Original Sin 2 – Major Differences & Similarities in Combat:

Baldur’s Gate 3 is copying the combat system of Divinity Original Sin II. Baldur’s Gate I & II provided a real time combat with pause feature that can be watched from a top down, isometric view. Players had been given more time to choose their next move because of the pause option, but most of it happen fairly fast.

Baldur’s Gate III copies the combat from Divinity Original Sin II, which utilizes turn based combat, & you can get as much time as you want to choose your next action. Your heroes have a set number of initiative, & everything happen in turn based which means one of the player will make their first turn & it will be followed by the turn of the adversary & so on. However, priority of first turn will be decided upon how much initiative you & your enemy have. If you have higher initiative than your opponent, then you will be given opportunity to make first initiative. Your team mates will make their first move in this case. Every character in your team has a certain no. of movement based on the speed. Actions in the game are split into bonus actions & regular actions.

Every user interface is split into 2 sections. Health is shown on left side of screen & movement is visible on the right side. Ability points are located above health, which can be used to execute high powered attacks or spells. A group of these abilities act as a bonus action, & these points can be seen above the movement bar. It is up to the gamer to choose how these are broken up, but after losing them, your turn is over. On the lower right section of screen, check out how combat progresses. Hovering over any of the action areas can assist you to check complete info. of the rolls, bonuses & what went on from both opponents & allies.

Camera in Baldur’s Gate III does not show action from isometric view but gameplay can be observed from a free top down view in which you can change your camera angle, zoom & change the observation of gameplay. The change in game camera is due to fresh combat system & it lets you analyze your decisions more thoroughly than if you are watching a real time combat happen.

After playing Baldur’s Gate 3 for the first time, players are offered choice to customize character or decide one from a list of available characters. Origin Story heroes are copied from Divinity Original Sin 2. These characters have a pre-built past who had linked to the world, & every character had an exclusive mission for players to progress through while finishing the story campaign. In Baldur’s Gate 3, it is possible to customize those characters & change their statistics & abilities but it is impossible to alter their class.
