Samurai Shodown 2 Review, Gameplay, Release date, New Fighters, Price & More:

We have added everything we know about Samurai Shodown II including its review, gameplay, new fighters, release date, price & more you can find in this review.

Samurai Shodown 2 is working hard to find its place after so much time it lost. It did not get a home console port in the 90’s & branching out onto the SNES or Genesis as its first part did. It was only enjoyed by a small fan community close to the Neo Geo though it is a very good game. The game is making its name after lost time now. It is a part of the Samurai Shodown Anthology compilation package.

Samurai Shodown 2 Review

Samurai Shodown 2 is a head to head fighting video game that presents the 90s arcades. Samurai Shodown 2 is a new edition to the game that shifted the focus of the fighting genre by giving weapons to all of its players. The characters used big, bladed swords, claws & spears to fight the opponents.

Samurai Shodown II Gameplay:

Samurai Shodown 2 - New Fighters:

4 new fighters have been added in the sequel while the game also includes original characters from first part. The new fighters include Genjuro Kibagami who is a samurai warrior serving as a new enemy to the leading character Haohmaru. Nicotine Caffeine is an old man who worked as master to Haohmaru & Genjuro & trained them. Neinhalt Seiger is a tough guy who is armed with an oversized arm. Cham Cham is a younger sister of Samurai Shodown’s Tam Tam (who has magically converted into a monkey in Samurai Shodown 2).

Total number of Fighters in Samurai Shodown II:

Samurai Shodown 2 features 15 playable characters after the inclusion of four new characters. The game does not focus completely on the new fighters but in addition every old character has been refined & upgraded.

New Movement options introduced in Samurai Shodown II:

New movement options are available for every character. The fighters can forward roll, quick hops & ducks. The new movement options increase the chances of escaping the enemy attacks with a fast hop or duck & then you can counterattack rather than jumping in the air to escape it or just block to take the hit. The rival AI is not shy about exploiting the new mechanic & spamming distance hits against enemies will seldom work in your favor.

How to destroy foe’s weapon?

The skill to fully destroy your rival’s weapon has been included in the new name as well. In first game you could only disarm your opponent but they were able to pick up the weapon. But now with best timing & luck, you have a chance to destroy the opponent’s blade.

You can also pick up weapon randomly thrown during fight:

There is a man named Hikyaku who randomly throws weapon during fight so there is a chance he might throw a new weapon. He also throws recovery items & bombs during battle. The player can also use their bare hands after their weapon is destroyed completely, which is a new feature included in the game.

All of the new modifications & new playable fighters have made the game a good sequel. The difficulty of the game is high because when you play the single player campaign against an AI controlled by computer, it will be very difficult for you to knock him out. There is an adjustable challenge meter in the options which can change the difficulty level to beginner. There are 9 levels of difficulty to choose from.

Samurai Shodown II costs only 9 bucks:

Samurai Shodown 2 might not be far better than Samurai Shodown but still you can spend your money on a game which is fun. Though buying this game will let you play an amazing, focused based fighter video game for only 9 dollars.

Street Fighter V Arcade Edition Review:

Street Fighter 5 Arcade Edition introduces new modes & game changing V trigger move set that adds fun to gameplay. If you have Street Fighter V copy, then Arcade Edition is a free update that includes a load of new content & a sleek UI overhaul. But if you don’t own the original game then after purchasing Arcade Edition you will get 12 DLC characters from season one & two in addition to the copy of the game.

Street Fighter V Arcade Mode:

One of the biggest addition to the game is its classic Arcade Mode. The gameplay of Street Fighter V is different from what we have observed in earlier versions but its presentation is superb.
You can select one out of six paths, each path is limited to character from a different period of Street Fighter, from one to five, with Street Fighter Alpha mixed in. The path include breaking barrels, to remixes to old songs, & you will also face hard boss battles if you perform well.

After finishing a path you will unlock a piece of art that adds up what happened to your hero in that game. Each hero will have a different piece of artwork for each path, so it will be nice to play arcade mode with many heroes.

Team Battle Mode:

Team Battle Mode allows you to make a team of five characters against others in a series of 1 on 1 matches. Each character’s health is restored after winning a match & you can become victorious after wiping out all opponents or simply winning  a best of series of matches.

Extra Battle Mode:

Extra Battle Mode allows you to utilize fight money to buy into a special limited time challenge where you can gain experience, collect fight money & costumes for your character; & also you can enter Special Challenges that will provide unique titles as rewards.

V-Triggers II:

Street Fighter 5 Arcade Edition also include V-Triggers which is a powerful attack & the most exciting addition apart from new game modes. V-Triggers become usable when the opponent takes lots of damage in a round. It is difficult to evade V-trigger attack after an opponent’s V-Gauge is full.
Ryu’s V-Trigger enables him to perform super parry that will make any rival think two times about an expected attack as opponent may lose half of his life gauge. Cammy performs even more mobility & a lethal throw attack that causes lots of damage to opponent & Zangief performs his signature Screw Piledriver & he can also execute combo in it.
One of the big improvements in Arcade Edition is the training mode which allows you to learn how to perform attack or chain of attacks & also evade opponents hit. You can master against tough opponents in training mode & also learn new moves.

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition Gameplay:

Street Fighter V Arcade Edition gameplay is same as the original game but there are many improvements in addition to new modes. Street Fighter V Arcade Edition provides a balance gameplay & we may also expect the release of Season 3 in future as well.
