We have added all the concrete information about Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner Mars including its review, story, features, gameplay, development, release date & you can find more information in this post.

ZOE: The 2nd Runner Mars Review
ZOE: The 2nd Runner Mars Review

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner is a third person shooter video game developed & published by Konami for PS2 in 2003. It is a hack & slash video game based around mecha combat with the protagonist controlling the “Orbital Frame” Jehuty. Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner contains more weapons than in earlier game.

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner Mars Story:

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner Mars Story
Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner Mars Story

The story is set 2 years after the events from original game & based on Dingo Egret, a former member from Mars’ military organization BEHRAM whose leader Ridley wants to go back with him. Ridley shoots Dingo after his rejection but the agent Ken protects him by joining his body to Jehuty & forces to work to beat BEHRAM.

Fans criticized ZOE:

Fans criticized the original ZOE & developers worked to cover all those criticisms. Thus The 2nd Runner has more action elements as compared to its first part.

ZOE: The 2nd Runner was praised:

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner received better response from fans after covering the criticism the original game received. It was praised for its graphics & gameplay elements but fans disliked its short gameplay length & presentation. Its HD version was released on PS3 & Xbox 360 in 2012. Its remastered edition The 2nd Runner Mars also features enhanced graphics with 4K resolution & VR headset support in addition to an updated sound design supporting surround sound.

ZOE: The 2nd Runner Mars Features:

You must relive the Odyssey from a fresh perspective. After its debut for PS2, the game has made a remarkable example of graphics, sound design & story telling. These features are further enhanced in 2012 release while adding new features. Now it is redesigned for PS4 & PC Windows with remastered visual effects.

The 2nd Runner Mars also includes VR support. Fly through the Martian skies & enter a new dimension of mech action.

The 2nd Runner Mars is a remastered of the 2003 Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner which is recreated for play in VR & improved with next-gen gaming platform technology. The new edition expands its scope beyond that of its first ZOE. The remastered edition features wars that are fought in canyons, cityscapes, rival fortresses & even in the depths of space.

ZOE: The 2nd Runner Mars Gameplay:

A new company of characters populates these diverse settings, in order to infuse this epic saga with a human element. You are going to witness interplanetary war once again in this game but this time the Jupiter & Mars are held in the balance. You will witness a lot of fresh gameplay features to help balance the odds. New maneuvers let gamers to swing around rivals, shoot groups of rival fighters, tear down walls that can be used as shields or as a weapon, or even teleport out of hazard. You can even use sub weapons that provide basic attacks & improve strategic play during battle.

ZOE: The 2nd Runner Mars Gameplay
ZOE: The 2nd Runner Mars Gameplay

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner Mars is a remaster with new graphics, modes & it is designed for modern systems. The visuals are redrawn to match a native 4K resolution, making the game compatible with PS4 Pro.

The complete game has been redeveloped to function in VR, providing new & existing players a chance to experience Konami’s cult classic from a full new perspective.

The real challenge was to make the game compatible with VR. It is compatible with both PS VR & Steam VR. You are placed in a cockpit that can reduce the sense of motion sickness which you might experience in Virtual Reality, providing a fixed frame of Jehuty’s interior controls to ground the view without reducing your complete field of vision. Zooming up to rivals using Orbital Frame’s dash maneuver feels fluid while melee attacks using blades or environmental objects you grab hold of feels more visceral. You can strafe through the sky & lock on to full swarms of rivals then unleashing a burst of missile attacks at them feels amazing as well.

Fans using PC can use Oculus Rift & HTC Vive for the VR mode as well.

After controlling the Jehuty Orbital Frame, you job is to stop BAHRAM & protect the struggling planets. You have such a powerful machine but still your chances of success are very low.

ZOE: The 2nd Runner Mars Development:

Zone of the Enders was released on PS2 in 2001 & it was developed & produced by Metal Gear’s Hideo Kojima. Konami has not changed the exact layout of the settings & environments of the original game but improved models & textures to meet modern expectations. The story of the game is not altered as well, you can once again control Dingo, who is drawn into a conspiracy that spans the solar system when he unveils the Orbital Frame called Jehuty.
