Half-Life: Alyx is announced & it is a VR game set to be released in March 2020:

Valve has officially announced Half Life: Alyx which is a VR romp set b/w the events of Half Life & its sequel, when Alex & her father, form the resistance to protect the world against alien combine armies.

Half Life: Alyx is a VR game but it will allow you to explore, battle, solve riddles, & complete a new story campaign. The length of Half Life: Alyx will be equal to the length of Half Life 2 though Half Life: Alyx could take longer to complete based on how much you can explore the world. Half Life 2 takes around 15 hours to complete.

The game is set to be released sooner than expected. Half Life: Alyx will launch in March 2020 & it will support all PC based VR headsets. If you have Index then you can get it for free, including the bonus content. Half Life: Alyx will show up in the Steam Library automatically at launch, & you can receive it if you just own the Index controllers, rather than the complete VR kit. Others will have to pay $60 in order to get it.
