Daymare 1998 is a survival horror, third-person shooter that is heavily inspired by 1990’s horror games.

Resident Evil 2 remake was launched last year. Capcom did it best with the remake & it is not just graphically enhanced but a complete overhaul. Daymare 1998 is a new game from new developer & it seems promising too. Daymare 1998 is based on Resident Evil 2 & it is from developers of Invader Studios.

In our comparison of Resident Evil 2 Remake vs Daymare 1998, we have highlighted major aspects of the game, that shows differences & similarities between both games.

Daymare 1998 has a novel narrative but it looks mostly like Resident Evil 2. The game has similar enemies, the diseases seem familiar too, & being part of a special forces squad, things seem very similar to RE 2.

Every character is able to carry 3 weapons. They can shoot well, but the auto-aim option has the problem to focus on rivals that are further away from you rather than the enemy that is closer enough to hurt you.

Voice acting & dialogue has been done extremely well. Graphically this game shines but not comparable to Resident Evil 2 remake. Rivals in the game have high detail but the game does not offer variety of enemies.

Daymare 1998 Gameplay:

Play as one of 3 playable hero characters each with their own backstory. Each character has its own skills & playstyle. Use the approach of sneaking around enemies or you can attack the enemies using your weapon. The gameplay is quite similar to Resident Evil 4. Use your weapon against enemies. Also run from zombies when you have no other option.

Solve tricky puzzles & explore surroundings. In the facility, fight zombies. Run when necessary & shoot when you have to. Restore power to access elevator. You will encounter hordes of zombies on your way. Find keys to unlock doors & insert a fuse to restore power.

Daymare 1998 Story:

A team is sent to a research facility to investigate an incident. It turns out that there is a lot more than just an incident of a security breach. As a result of the incident, the whole town is transformed into zombies. Now run for your lives.
