Differences between Xenoblade Chronicles 3 VS Xenoblade Chronicles 2:
A new role-playing adventure is
waiting in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 that combines the futures of the previous 2
games.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is set to
be released only on Nintendo Switch. The developers said that Xenoblade
Chronicles 3 is larger & denser than the previous games of the series. More
characters can be seen on the screen in the latest version. All Xenoblade
titles only launched on Nintendo platforms.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Story:
Some characters are confirmed to
be available in the latest game but the publishers are expected to reveal more
characters soon.
6 main characters are confirmed
to be available in the final version of the series.
- Mio
- Noah
- Eunie
- Lanz
- Sena
- Taion
The launch date trailer reveals that
the following characters are included in Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s battle menu:
Manana, Riku, Valdi, & Zeon. They also take part in some of the narrative
cutscenes. Therefore, they are looking important to the narrative even if they
are not the main characters.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 VS Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Setting:
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a next
instalment to the Xenoblade Chronicles 2, & it is set in the same world
Aionios, where the two kingdoms Agnus & Keves are at battle with each
other. Players will play as the protagonists: Mio & Noah, & each of
them are heroes from the 2 mentioned kingdoms. Players will once again discover
the game world & take part in the battles, which is a popular feature of
the series.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is not
directly connected to the 2 earlier games of the series. These games are set in
parallel worlds & times but there is no direct link. It has a slightly
complicated setup but the games are popular for its story & gameplay.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 VS Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Gameplay:
We have seen much gameplay in the
trailer, but it seems like the latest entry is following the same concept
introduced in the earlier 2 titles. Players will once again discover an open world,
& we see wonderful locations including natural landscapes & cities.
Players can control multiple protagonists in this game, but it is not confirmed
if players can switch b/w them on the fly or they can swap b/w them depending
on the narrative. The recent trailer reveals that up to 7 heroes can be in the
players' team at a time.
Players will ride vehicles such
as boats. They will be able to swim & grind on the rail for crossing large
chasms.
Players will fight against big
mechanical robots, as well as normal rivals. Rivals looking like dragons can be
seen in the trailer who can stomp around or even swim, which can make the
gameplay challenging.
I have seen some gameplay in the
recent trailer, & it is confirmed that the latest game is similar to the
previous titles. In previous games, battle plays out in real time with attacks
being executed automatically when heroes are close to the rival. Therefore,
players may be a little worried about how they can manage their skills known as
Battle Arts, how to find the weak spots of their rivals, & how to manage
their team. Fortunately, things are even more immersive than that, but it is
expected that part 3 will spice up the formula in at least a few ways outside
of these main gameplay systems.
In the trailers so far, we have
seen that UI has the Tactics Button, Chain Attack, Fusion, & diverse set of
abilities that can be executed via 4 face buttons. Fusion seems to merge Noah
& Mio into one, very dominant character in the fight. Multiple heroes can
be fused into a powerful hero whose skills are similar to the individual
characters.
Chain Attacks bring the heroes
closer so they can hit the enemy together. The gauge will display the damage
caused by this hit, which can be upgraded via Completion Bonuses.
Heroes have a class that offers
them access to special Artes, which is a unique feature of that class. Noah
belongs to Swordfighter class, while Milo falls into Zephyr. Nopon’s will
return, & they will battle together with your team.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 VS Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Story:
The developers have shown the new
gameplay & clues about the focus of the story. The third entry is meant to
link the futures of previous two entries of the series.
The game focuses on 2 playable
heroes who are living in a war torn world. Mio & Noah, & their
associates are from 1 of the 2 kingdoms in battle but they are fighting for a
similar unidentified objective. A powerful force is threatening the enemies but
apparently helping the good characters. It looks like the heroes can use the
powerful force.
Part 2 was mainly focused on
beings known as Blades who can get powerful weapons forms when connected with
weapon wielders known as Drivers. Its Blade system acts like one character
becomes the Blade, & another becomes the Driver. In Xenoblade Chronicles 3,
allies can transform into a single powerful unit that seems similar to a mech.
Every hero has their own
narrative & link to the main story in Part 3.
