SONY has confirmed the release of PS5 this year but no official date has been confirmed yet. It is anticipated that PS5 will be released in 'Holiday 2020' which is also the release time of its competitor Xbox Series X. In today's article i will discuss the difference between PS4 and PS5 and if it is worth upgrading your play station game console.

As confirmed by Sony, Play Station 5 will be running on an AMD CPU chip, 8 core processor and (3rd generation of AMD's Ryzen). Graphics has been immensely improved by combining two great architectures such as last-generation Zen CPU and Navi graphics by AMD. The GPU of PS5 will support 8K resolutions and ray tracing in Play station 5 games. It will immensely improve the graphics by outperforming the visual fidelity in games. As a result, games could exhibit more realistic lighting and shadows and making it far better gaming console than PS4. 

Enough talking about the video, lets discuss some of the audio aspects of PS5 and see how it outsmarts PS4. New gaming console is equipped with a custom 3D unit for audio which will take the audio and sound to the next level. "As a gamer," said Cerny, "it's been a little bit of a frustration that audio did not change too much between PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. With the next console the dream is to show how dramatically different the audio experience can be when we apply significant amounts of hardware horsepower to it.” I call this a major improvement from PS4.

Apart from improved graphics and audio, gamer will experience reduced loading time while playing games which will minimize the frustration and waiting time. A footage reveal by Sony reveals that PS4 Spiderman game took 8.1 seconds to load, however the same game took 0.8 seconds to load on PS5, it is a massive reduction in downtime from a gamer perspective. Unlike PS4 where a disc based hard drive is used, new console will use SSD for storage purpose. In addition to above, instant access would be granted to single player and multi player mission without the hassle of rebooting the console, a massive thumbs up from us. 

With Sony's new partnership with Microsoft and the development of advanced streaming and cloud technology, one can expect that PS5 games will stream a lot faster. Another great news for the gamer is that PS5 will be backwards compatible with PS4 games, however no words have been said about PS3 and PS2 games.
