Resident Evil 2 lets you control rookie cop Leon Keneddy & college student Claire Redfield, who must find an escape from Raccoon city after the inhabitants are changed into zombies. The disaster occurred due to a virus two months after the events of Resident Evil.

Marvin Branagh is a police officer who warns Leon of the risks ahead. He stays in the main hall after bitten by zombie & offers Leon a survival knife. The story is different though Leon once again reaches police station.

Resident Evil 2 Gameplay:

You can play Resident Evil 2 from a third person over the shoulder perspective just like Resident Evil 4. The camera is changed very much from the original fixed camera system but the remaster still emphasizes on survival horror aspect. You don’t have high power like other action oriented games in the Resident Evil series.

When you aim at your target, the cardinal markers on your reticle slowly move until they are closed in on the center, allowing you to fire a more accurate shot. But when you move, the reticle resets & it takes some time to close in again.

The game lets you solve puzzles, find keys, collect resources that can be saved in boxes. You now have even more freedom to search & discover secrets at your own pace. You can find out new pathways & gain new items that might help you in unlocking the path leading to next objective.

Resident Evil 7 was like classic Resident Evil video game but you could only use first person camera. Resident Evil 2 remaster feels the same like part 7 but the camera is fixed over the shoulder.

Capcom uses over the shoulder camera in Resident Evil 2 because they want fans to experience a very scary game. The zombies encounter will be more terrifying in this kind of view. After watching the E3 2018 gameplay demo we found that the game plays well with third person view & it makes the exploration more feasible. We saw in demo that it was easy to control Leon when he was travelling through corridors of the police department.

The Raccoon City Police Station is the primary location of the gameplay demo presented at E3 2018. The remaster seems to closely redeveloped many of the area’s rooms & corridors while new details have been introduced to give a new look to the 1998 Resident Evil 2. The police station rooms are modified but the whole structure remains mostly the same. Some areas seem to be darker than in Resident Evil 2 & Leon can only navigate the environment using flashlight. When you open a door, you won’t see any loading screens. Zombies will now chase you from room to room so you can no longer escape.

The Resident Evil 2 featured two separate campaign where you had the choice to choose either Leon or Claire. Based on who you finished the story campaign with, you could then begin the game again with a new character.

You could play Resident Evil 7 entirely on PS VR so fans had been asking whether Resident Evil 2 remaster would have the VR support. Capcom confirmed that Resident Evil 2 remake would not be playable in VR due to the third person over the shoulder view.

Other features of Resident Evil 2 remake:

Whenever a zombie grabs you then you can stab to push them away & do not receive damage. This feature was introduced in Resident Evil remaster.

Your survival knife will remain in the body of the zombie until you take it out.

Inside the police station you will find wooden boards that you can use to barricade doors & windows from zombies & other bioweapon hazards. The new wooden boards will provide safety from zombies.

There is gunpowder crafting mechanics which let you create ammo from scratch. You can make deadly ammo which can be used to kill stronger zombies.

Pathologic 2 is a remake of a horror action adventure video game which first launched in 2005. A virus has spread in the city. You need to make clever decisions while living in a dangerous city where you can be the next victim. This virus is not just a disease so it is impossible to protect everyone. Pathologic 2 is out now on PS4, Xbox One & PC but it has not been launched on Nintendo Switch. It is expected to release on Stadia in future.

When it enters your body, it spreads very quickly & affects your nervous & respiratory system, & it causes paralysys. The people use the services of a physician, investigator & army to deal with such situation. You are helped by other people including Karla, a lady who has paranormal powers, & the surgeon who is finding his family’s legacy in this town. The game offers you just 10 days to prevent the virus from spreading & get rid of the villain.

In this game, you follow the narrative from the perspective of 3 heroes: a doctor, a girl with supernatural powers, & a gifted surgeon. They have their unique gameplay style, & they work independently but sometimes they cross each other. In Pathologic 2, you can freely roam about the complete town from first person view. Every day you receive a new objective that you need to finish, which allows you to discover, communicate with NPCs, & sometimes it allows you to fight against enemies. But your major opponent is time & if you fail to finish the quest within the mentioned time frame then it can cause death of more people.
