Horizon Shift ‘81 Gameplay:

Player takes control of a ship shown in the middle of the screen. Adversaries can launch attack from the top & bottom. So player has to move up & down to fight them. Player can launch a dash attack in order to knock adversaries off the horizon & throw them into other coming adversaries. Dashing adversaries of the line also refills the dash meter thus letting player to launch Dash chaining to score points.

Each stage can be completed in about 1-2 minutes. After completing five stages, player face a boss fight. Player has to complete 36 stages to beat the game.
