There is an alternate way to evolve certain Pokemon in Pokemon Go. New way of evolving certain Pokemon include trading them to a buddy. This technique works a bit differently than it works in a typical Pokemon game, so we have added complete information about evolving creature through trading.

You can evolve creature in Pokemon Go by offering them Candy. There is a new way of evolving these Pokemon such as when you get an eligible creature through trade, you won’t have to feed them Candy in order to evolve them.

However, this method of evolving is newly included in this game but it also applies to past traded creature which means if you have got a Pokemon that meets requirement through a trade, then there is no need to feed them Candy now because you can evolve them for free as well.
